BARBANERA STYLE
USING NARRATIVE TO BUILD A BRAND WORLD
The 8th Note of Ramon Amado grew out of an ongoing collaboration with Italian fashion brand Barbanera and a shared interest in creating branded work that could stand on its own as storytelling.
Rather than beginning with a product, the film begins with a character and an emotional question: can pain be both something that wounds us and something that transforms us?
I directed the project as a cinematic short first and a branded piece second, allowing the clothing to inhabit the character’s world rather than interrupt it.
It represents an approach I continue to believe in: when a brand has a strong enough identity, the most powerful way to communicate it is sometimes to stop advertising and start telling a story.
