EDITORIAL FILM FOR VOGUE PORTUGAL
A Visual Study of Transformation, Identity and Beauty
Inked explores the body as a canvas, something that carries memory, identity and transformation over time.
Created as the moving-image component of a Vogue Portugal editorial, the film builds on the relationship between fashion, skin and art, using movement, texture and imagery to explore beauty as something that can be altered, marked and continually redefined. The editorial itself centers on the idea of tattooing as storytelling through the body, with artist Luna Ikuta serving as both inspiration and artist within the story.
I approached the film less as documentation of a fashion editorial and more as a visual poem. Rather than explaining the idea literally, the moving images create an emotional layer, allowing gesture, rhythm, light and transformation to carry the narrative.
It reflects something I continue to explore in my work: photography, fashion and film do not need to exist as separate disciplines. Each can reveal a different dimension of the same story.
